FORT SMITH -- Police continued to investigate a shooting that left a man dead Thursday afternoon.
Fort Smith Police spokesman Cpl. Anthony Rice said Dylan Stancoff, 23, was shot by Krissy Tran, 20, at her apartment at 1612 S. X St. about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Tran has not been arrested, Rice said, and no charges have been filed.
A news release Thursday said preliminary findings showed that Stancoff may have been trying to force his way into Tran's apartment while looking for Tran's husband, who was not home at the time.
Rice said that once detectives complete their investigation, reports will be turned over to the prosecutor's office to decide whether to file charges.
