The Peel Mansion Museum and its surrounding Heritage Gardens in Bentonville are festooned for the holidays and will play host to the annual Christmas Gala to benefit The Peel Compton Foundation on Saturday.
Proceeds will help support garden programs that include School Days, art exhibitions, seminars, tours and a plant and tree sale in April.

The Italianate villa style mansion dates back to 1875, when it was built by Col. Samuel West Peel, and serves as a window into the lives of the region's early settlers.
In September, the historical mansion saw more than 700 area fourth-graders during the weeklong School Days, "an interactive, entertaining and educational event," that included living history stations where students could see and take part in life activities as they were experienced by pioneers.
The mansion featured the Barns of Benton and Beyond photography exhibition comprised of photos by Melba Shewmaker with Monte Harris. The museum foundation is reviewing several additional artists to feature in exhibitions in the coming year, said Jennie McIntire, director of awareness and engagement.
The fundraiser will begin with a champagne and hors d'oeuvres reception followed by a multi-course gourmet dinner with wine pairings from Trinchero Family Estates Winery. Attire for the evening is cocktail for women and business for men.
