Julie Gumm was named director of university communication at John Brown University. She is a 1995 graduate of the school and returned to work at JBU in 2014. She was the school's director of marketing communications.

Don McDonald was promoted by Merrill Lynch to managing director. He is based in the Fort Smith office at 3220 Old Greenwood Road. McDonald joined Merrill Lynch in 1989. He received a bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University.

Sterling Hamilton has joined Sage Partners as an associate in its brokerage division. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and University of Washington. He has 15 years of real estate experience in transactions and real estate consulting for Fortune 500 companies. Hamilton will specialize in multifamily, affordable housing and urban development. He is a Partners for Better Housing board member and serves on the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce College Avenue Redevelopment Committee.

LaDonna Humphrey is Northwest Arkansas Home Builders Association's new executive officer. She has more than 15 years of nonprofit and corporate experience, most recently as the director of marketing and communications for an electronic health record company.
