In budget dysfunction, where is the county judge?

After reading Greg Harton's piece on the dysfunction in the Washington County Quorum Court, I have one question. Where the heck is the county judge, Joseph Wood, in all this?

Mr. Wood has kept an extremely low profile since his election. In fact, the only reference to the judge in Mr. Harton's column was that he kicked off the current brouhaha by appointing the entire quorum court to the budget committee. Well, duh? Seems like a violation of the old adage, "too many cooks in the kitchen..."

Apparently, Judge Wood doesn't like to concern himself with the details, or in Harton's view, the sausage-making. But that's part of what he was elected to do: the sausage-making.
