TOAST TO GIFT-GIVING

Chancellor thanks donors to UALR with house party

Certain University of Arkansas at Little Rock donors were celebrated Tuesday during an intimate yet festive gathering at the home of UALR Chancellor Andrew Rogerson and his wife, Janessa. It was the first Chancellor's Circle event for the Rogersons.

The circle includes those who have given a minimum of $1,000 to UALR over the last year. Many have given well above that, said UALR Vice Chancellor for Advancement Christian O'Neal.

After some sipping and before some snacking, Rogerson addressed those gathered in his living room. "This group is very special," he said. "As Chancellor's Circle donors, there is a common bond: a love of higher education and a deep appreciation for the role that UA Little Rock is playing to shape the region.

"Your gifts enhance and deepen the college experience by providing necessary funds to advance four important facets of university life -- student success, faculty excellence, staff excellence and community interests."
