FAYETTEVILLE -- Rodolfo Alberto Martinez will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing Jimmy Rodriquez.
Martinez, 21, was charged with capital murder, two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and three counts of committing a terroristic act.
Police described the drive-by slaying as a retribution gang shooting. It happened April 11, 2015 in Springdale.
Rodriguez was 20 years old.
A jury found Martinez guilty of capital murder earlier today. The conviction came with an automatic sentence of life without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors had waived the death penalty against Martinez in the case. An additional seven years was added for using a firearm.
The nine men and three women on the jury also found Martinez guilty of three counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and three counts of committing a terroristic act. The jury recommended an additional 50 years on those counts.
Washington County Circuit Court Judge Mark Lindsay ordered all the sentences run concurrently.
