I-49 lanes to close overnight for work on U.S. 412 ramps

Crews constructing ramps for future U.S. 412 will require overnight lane closings on sections of Interstate 49 in Benton County for three days beginning Wednesday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

The inside lane of northbound and southbound I-49 between Wagon Wheel Road in Springdale and Arkansas 264 in Lowell will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.

In the same location, the inside and outside lanes in both directions will be alternately closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily through Saturday to allow the contractor to hang bridge safety platforms, also weather permitting.

One lane will be closed at a time, but, if necessary, all lanes may be closed for 15-minute intervals, the department said. Traffic will be controlled using signage and traffic barrels.
