Ingle began serving as the Ward 2, Position 2 alderman on April 23, 2015. Ingle was appointed April 21, 2015, to serve the remainder of a four-year term held by a council member who resigned, Houston said.

"We will take applications from folks in Ward 2," Houston said. "The council will interview them and then have to choose which one to fill the rest of the term."

The term ends Dec. 31, 2018, Houston said.

Ward 2 is in the southeast corner of the city. It has a population of 1,832 residents, according to a ward map on the city's website.

Applications for the position are on the city's website and will be accepted until Aug. 31, Houston said.

City Council members are paid $250 per meeting, Houston said.
