Hopes high 1919 events in Arkansas make National Park Service list

This building in downtown Elaine is being considered as the site for a museum as Phillips County civic leaders hope to create a memorial for people killed in a 1919 massacre.

In September 1919, former slave and reverend Elias Camp Morris became a peacemaker.
