Andrew Benintendi is off to a strong start in his Boston Red Sox career.

And on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles, the former Arkansas Razorbacks outfielder found himself being mentioned alongside baseball royalty after going 5-for-5 in Boston's 6-2 victory.

Benintendi, 22, became the youngest Red Sox player ever to achieve the five-hit milestone. The player who previously held the record? Babe Ruth.

Benintindi was 22 years, 291 days, while Ruth was 23 years, 92 days. Ruth set the previous record May 9, 1918, against the Washington Senators. He also pitched a complete game in the 4-3 loss with fellow Hall of Famer Walter Johnson getting the victory.

On Sunday, Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez hit home runs on successive pitches in a four-run first inning to help Benintendi and Boston avert a three-game sweep.

Mitch Moreland also had a home run for the Red Sox, who came in with a major-league low eight home runs. All the home runs were off Kevin Gausman (1-2), who found himself in a 4-0 hole after throwing only seven pitches.

Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez (1-1) allowed 1 hit over 6 innings, walking 5 and striking out 7.
