BENTONVILLE -- A Lowell man is being held on a $250,000 bond in connection with shooting two people early Friday morning.

Keylan Osburn, 27, of Lowell appeared in court Monday morning for his bond hearing. Osborn was arrested Friday after a standoff with police at the Fairways at Lost Spring in Little Flock. He is in the Benton County Jail.

He was arrested in connection with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of minor, three counts of first-degree false imprisonment and aggravated residential burglary. Prosecutors have not filed formal charges against Osburn.

Police were called at 1 a.m. about a disturbance at the apartment complex just off Dixieland Road, Little Flock Police Chief Jesse Martinez said.

Police were told shots were fired during a disturbance. Officers found two people who had been shot when they arrived and moved them to safety, Martinez said.

One person was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, and the other person was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Their names haven't been released.

Osburn barricaded himself in the apartment with a woman and two children, Martinez said.

The SWAT team and negotiators with the Benton County Sheriff's Office were also called to the scene.

Osburn released the woman and children within the first hour of the standoff, but he remained in the apartment, Martinez said.

Tear gas was fired into the apartment about 5 a.m. and Osburn came outside shortly after, Martinez said.

Nathan Smith, Benton County's prosecuting attorney, requested a bond of $250,000. The severity of the crime, the prolonged standoff and firing a gun at two people were the reasons for the bond recommendation amount, Smith said.

Jay Saxton, Benton County's chief public defender, stood in with Osburn at the bond hearing. Saxton told Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green that Osburn has lived in Benton County for 10 years and his father, mother and brother live in Lowell. Saxton requested a $50,000 bond.

Green said she had read the probable cause affidavit and set the bond at $250,000.

Osburn's arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. May 1 in Green's court.
