Box signs LOI with Southwest Baptist

Sam Box a Providence Academy senior signed with Southwest Baptist .

Providence Academy senior Sam Box signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Southwest Baptist University.

Box (6-foot, 180 pounds) is a middle infielder. He is batting .425 this season and pitched a no-hitter against Summit Christian earlier this season.

"I chose to be a Bearcat because of the Christian coach," Box said. "They have a Christ-centered environment. I think I can get better at Southwest."

Box was also recruited by Harding University, Mid-America Christian and Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Waters signs with Ozarks

Austin Waters a Bentonville High School swimmer signs with University of the Ozarks.

Bentonville High swimmer Austin Waters signed his letter of intent with University of the Ozarks during Wednesday's ceremony at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

"The campus there is beautiful, in general," Waters said. "Once I started meeting students, they just wanted me to come. I know the swim coach there, and he's pretty good."

Waters competed in the breaststroke, backstroke and individual medleys with the Tigers and expects to work on the same events at Ozarks.
