The checks are in the mail to the 20,521 Marlboro Lights smokers who are splitting $18 million paid to settle a lawsuit, a Friday court order states.

Judge Tim Fox has accused me of purchasing cigarettes before my 18 birthday in 1976,77, wasn't against the law to buy cigarettes in the 70's before you turned 18. Maybe the judge needs to go back to law school. My settlement was reduced to 100 dollars due to him...

The disbursement department for the Marlboro light settlement in Arkansas, has told me I have no recourse, they say I can't appeal they're decision, to reduce my settlement because my application was incomplete because I broke the law in 1976 and bought cigarettes before I was 18!!

I was awarded $100 from this lawsuit and I couldn't get more because the judge said I illegally purchased cigarettes when I was under age 18!! That judge should have read up on the tobacco laws before he made these accusations!!! The legal age of 18 to purchase tobacco was Not passed til 1991, in which I was 19 going on 20!!! My public high school had a smoking section for 9th-12th graders and if it was illegal to buy cigarettes then it would've totally been illegal to allow their students to smoke under the age of 18!!! I'm really angry at the judge that made this ruling and I'm sure there was lots of litigants that were cheated out of their payout they deserved and should've received!!! What are we to do to dispute these wrongful rulings this judge stated? I think we should take a poll to find out how many people were paid $100 because they illegally purchased cigarettes under age 18, when they were 18 or over in year 1991!!!
