SPRINGDALE -- Springdale High senior Lakaisha Davis signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Champion Christian College in Hot Springs Tuesday in Bulldog Gymnasium.
Numerous family members sat alongside Davis as she delivered an emotional speech before officially signing. Champion Christian is getting a great kid, Lady Red'Dogs coach Heather Hunsucker said.
"It's a really big deal for her and her family," Hunsucker said. "One of the things that makes this more special is this day may not happen if we don't get basketball involved. She's thankful for all of her family support along the way because at times it wasn't easy.
"But we always said (during the season) that she made winning plays," she added. "She always did things to help us win."
Davis recorded a season-high four steals twice last season against U.S. Grant (Okla.) and Bentonville West.
