BEAVER LAKE
Anglers can catch black bass with any lure. John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said bass are biting a variety of lures, including spinner baits, crank baits and jerk baits. Main lake points and secondary points are good areas to try. So are places where fresh water flows into the lake. Crappie are biting well on the south end of the lake. Try minnows or jigs five to 15 feet deep. Striped bass are biting brood minnows or shad between Prairie Creek park and Monte Ne. Water temperature is 57 to 59 degrees. Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie are moving into shallow water. Fishing is good with minnows or jigs three to 10 feet deep around brush. Black bass are biting spinner baits. Striper fishing continues to be good in the Point 12 area with brood minnows or shad.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said white bass and walleye are spawning in the river. Trout are also biting. Try crank baits or white jigs for walleye and white bass. Fly fishermen are catching trout with pheasant tails, midges, hare’s ears and San Juan worms. The top lures are small spoons in gold-silver or gold-red. Power Bait in bright colors is working for trout.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
Angela Perea at the lake office said crappie fishing is good with minnows or jigs. Limits are being caught. Black bass are biting plastic worms or nightcrawlers. Use worms or liver for catfish. Go with crickets or worms for bluegill.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting well on minnows or jigs three to eight feet deep. Black bass are biting a variety of lures, including spinner baits and crank baits. Catfish are biting liver or shad.
LAKE ELMDALE
Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said crappie are biting minnows five feet deep under a bobber. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers. Use crickets four feet deep for bluegill.
SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting plastic worms, square-billed crank baits, spinner baits and top-water lures.
SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE
Stroud recommends fishing for crappie with minnows or jigs five to 10 feet deep.
BELLA VISTA
Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bells Vista said black bass fishing is fair at all Bella Vista lakes on plastic worms or jig and pigs. Bluegill fishing is fair at all lakes with worms or crickets 15 to 20 feet deep.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass at Lake Eucha are biting spinner baits, plastic worms or jig and pigs. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports crappie are biting jigs around docks and brush. White bass are biting minnow-type lures in the tributaries. Catfish are biting well on shad in coves and on the main lake.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
Missouri Department of Conservation reports good crappie fishing with minnows 10 to 20 feet deep around brush. Catfish are fair on cut bait. Pete Wenners at Pete’s Professional Guide Services said black bass is tougher this week than last. Swim baits and grubs are working to catch suspended bass eight to 10 feet over deeper water. Try fishing near the bottom with spinner baits early. Jig and pigs or jerk baits are also working along ledge rock.
