Dan Sanker

Where I live: Bordeaux Village in East Fayetteville near Goshen

Occupation: Founder, chief executive officer and president of CaseStack Inc.

My favorite space is: My favorite space in my house is gone! It was a narrow strip on the floor between my two boys' beds. It might not sound like much, but it was a small space with a lot of big memories.

Why? When they were younger, my boys never wanted to go to bed. Like a lot of kids, they'd fight the idea of ending the day. After a lot of cajoling, they'd finally get into their beds, but the deal was that I would lie down next to them for a few minutes. Therein was the challenge -- how to lie down in two beds at the same time? One exhausted night, I fell into the simple answer: I would lie down between the beds and hold both of their hands until everyone fell asleep. Usually, I would hang out for about half an hour, but every once in a while, I was so tired that I would conk out until morning. Of all the nice beds I have slept in, I have to admit, it was the best sleep I've ever had.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: There's no way to make it a better space. The beds are moved. The dinosaur wall mural has been replaced by whatever the color of the year is. But, I'll always have the memories.
