FAYETTEVILLE -- A Madison County man pleaded not guilty in Washington County Circuit Court on Wednesday to charges he kidnapped a woman pregnant with his child.

David Guerin, 31, of Witter was arrested July 25 in connection with kidnapping, third-degree domestic battery and first-degree terroristic threatening, all felonies, according to a preliminary arrest report. He also faces charges of misdemeanor second-degree domestic assault.

Prosecutors charged Guerin with kidnapping, a Class Y felony; and first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday at his arraignment before Circuit Judge Mark Lindsey. His trial is to begin Nov. 15.

The woman called police and said "he's going to kill me" before the phone was disconnected, according to a news release from Springdale police. Police plotted the call to an area around Caudle Avenue in Springdale, where the woman's family told them she possibly was with Guerin.

Soon after, the woman again called police and told them she was in a bathroom of a Bentonville pawn shop. Bentonville officers found a vehicle matching the one Guerin was driving, where they found the woman inside, the release said. The woman told officers she had been abducted from a store in Springdale when she ran into Guerin.

The woman, who is eight months pregnant, said Guerin forced her into the passenger seat and threatened to break her legs when she fought back. She said Guerin pulled her hair and pushed her face with his fist while he was driving, telling her not to make a scene, according to the release.

Guerin also pleaded not guilty to third-degree domestic battery, residential burglary, aggravated assault and terroristic threatening in an unrelated case.

He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
