Stephon Tyrone Harris, 20, surrendered to police just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Hot Springs Police Department.

Police had conducted multiple searches for Harris since the shooting, and a $5,000 reward was established for information leading to his arrest.

"I think he was feeling a lot of pressure from the SWAT team, and he knew that it was just a matter of time before we did find him," detective Lt. Duane Tarbet said. "I think to do the right thing and not let anyone else get hurt, he decided to turn himself in."

Harris is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Tyler Donaldson, 23, who died Sunday from injuries related to the shooting, Tarbet said. Harris also faces multiple counts of first-degree battery.

Harris is to appear Sept. 27 in Garland County District Court.

The Garland County sheriff's office and the Hot Springs Police Department worked through a "cooperative witness" to take Harris into custody Wednesday night in the 100 block of Lowery Street, sheriff's Lt. Joel Ware said.

Harris contacted the witness and said he wanted to surrender to authorities, Ware said.

Anthony James Camden, 23, also is in custody in connection with the shooting. Camden faces first-degree murder and first-degree battery charges. He is to appear Tuesday in Garland County District Court.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 near 311 Lacey St.
