History 'sandwich'
The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will visit the Barth-Hempfling House, 507 Main St., North Little Rock, at noon Friday for its September "Sandwiching in History" tour. The house was built in 1886 for a family that had emigrated to Arkansas from Baden-Baden, Germany. The visit will include a brief lecture and tour of the property; participants should provide their own lunches. Admission is free. Hot Springs gallery
New works by textile artist Jennifer Libby Fay, painted paper on canvas "Striations" by Donnie Copeland, wood sculptures by Robyn Horn and paintings by Dolores Justus go on display Friday at Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827-A Central Ave., Hot Springs, with a 5-9 p.m. reception in conjunction with the monthly Hot Springs Gallery Walk. The exhibition will be up through Sept. 30. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday or by appointment. Admission to the galleries and reception are free.
