Featuring 90 works, the exhibition includes pieces from Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, John Singer Sargent, William Merritt Chase, Faith Ringgold and Nick Cave. The exhibition in Bentonville will conclude Jan. 16.

Events planned to complement the exhibition include the Oklahoma Dance Film Festival on Thursday; a Spotlight Talk and Performance to guide guests through the exhibit led by Alice Bloch, dance scholar and Isadora Duncan-trained dancer, on Friday; and two performance labs: SLIPPAGE on Nov. 11 and Dancing Earth on Nov. 17.

The Director's Reception that evening in the museum's Great Hall featured a special performance by Ballet Arkansas.

Hatters went mad Oct. 21 for the Eureka Springs School of the Arts annual Mad Hatter Ball at the Crescent Hotel.

Toppers were festooned with peacock, ostrich and other fowl feathers, foam, sequins, beads, lights and metal, among other materials.

The school just poured concrete for a new wood studio, planned to open in late spring 2017. Jim McCoy, development assistant, told me the new studio will include lathes, knives, sanders and other woodworking tools for the classes to be held there.

The arts school offers instruction in pottery, painting, ceramics, leather, textiles and other special media.

Those topping off the week at the Mad Hatter Ball included Jean Elderwind and Doug Stowe, Peggy and Jim Hart, Sue and Charlie Runnels, Julie and Doyle Freeman, Nancy and Dan Lanik, Elise Roenigk, Doug Purifoy, Tommy Reinhart, June Owen, June Hegedus, Lizelle and Harold Dawson and Paige and Shelley Morris.

Pagnozzi Charities champions went all out for the 25th annual Ultimate Tailgate and Auction on Oct. 22 at the Fayetteville Town Center. The fundraiser also included a golf tournament Oct. 21 at the Fayetteville Country Club.

Proceeds will help the sports scholarship nonprofit organization support area children in various sports. Pagnozzi scholarships assist with expenses, such as team registration fees and equipment.

The championing sports for all kids included Mary Bassett and Hank Broyles, Teri and Gary Head, Steve Wood, Marie-Laure and Ian Rowland, Joni and Clayton Harrell, Caroline and Norm DeBriyn, Carol and Jonny Waddle, Tarenehand Lance Manning, Jamey and Mike Sims, Russell Winburn and Taruna Bolding.
