Nuptial vows were exchanged by Claire Desha Basham and Alec Ward at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Walker Ranch in Prairie Grove. Josh Wilson of New Heights Church in Bentonville officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Leslie and Drew Basham of Little Rock. Her grandparents are Clarinda and Gene Hall and Desha Basham, all also of Little Rock, and the late Charlie Basham.

Micki and Tim Ward of Fayetteville are the parents of the bridegroom. He is the grandson of Sandy and Dave Ward of Dallas and Marilyn and Carl Cheatwood of Miami, Okla.

Vows were exchanged in front of an arrangement of branches and white wedding flowers. Music was by vocalist and guitarist Jason Polley and vocalists Anna Hill and Elizabeth Hill.

The bride, who walked down the aisle with her father and her brother, James Hall Basham, wore a gown of ivory lace, almond-colored tulle and champagne-colored satin embellished with silver beading on the shoulder straps and bodice. She carried a bouquet of white, blush and blue wedding flowers.

Maid of honor was Betsey Blessen of Kansas City, Kan. Bridesmaids were Katie Polley of Denver; Conly Basham of Berkeley, Calif., cousin of the bride; Melissa Whipple of Fayetteville; and Lizzy Miller of Dallas. They wore gray chiffon gowns and carried bouquets similar to the bride's.

Flower girl was Olivia Ward of Fayetteville, sister of the bridegroom.

Serving as best man was Derick McKinney of Fayetteville. Groomsmen were Micah Lietzke, Garrett Naylor, Andrew Lynch and Nate Friend, all also of Fayetteville. Seating the guests were James Basham of Little Rock, brother of the bride; and Matt Brelsford, Josiah Raiford, Noah Epstein and Garrett Greenway, all also of Fayetteville.

A reception at Walker Ranch followed the ceremony. Guest tables covered in white cloths were centered with wooden platters holding votive candles in glass cylinders. Their first dance was to "La Vie en Rose" sung by Conly Basham.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, with a bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising and public relations. She is a content marketing writer for BlueSun Vacations.

The bridegroom has a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the university and is a design and film director at New Heights Church.

After a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
