Trump's 'good old days' weren't always so good

Donald Trump is not "telling it like it is," as some folks would have you believe. The so-called good old days weren't all that good. They were fairly rife with hatefulness.

I'm willing to bet if that kind of hatefulness was practiced on any one of his supporters, they would be the first to scream foul, asking for someone to ease their torment, probably even saying there ought to be a law.

I voted early, and this "nasty woman" voted for saneness and dignity and, yes, anti-discrimination laws -- emails and all.

Marsh highly dedicated to city of Fayetteville

I would like to express my unconditional support to Sarah Marsh for re-election to the Fayetteville City Council Ward 1. I have lived in Ward 1 for over four years and have come to know Sarah from my dealings with the mayor's office and the City Council.

Sarah is one of the hardest-working members of the City Council. She is highly dedicated to the city of Fayetteville, the people of Ward 1 and to the city as a whole. She consistently seeks the well-being of the people she represents with her passion for the job and people above reproach.

I do not see anyone, especially her opponent Paul Phaneuf, doing a better job than she does! Sarah Marsh is working hard, investing in her community and helping others do the same. That is why I ask people to vote to re-elect Sarah Marsh as their Ward 1 alderman.

Yellville turkey drop adding to world's misery

It made me sick in my heart when I read the horrible news that those poor turkeys had been dropped from a plane in Yellville. With so much evil and misery in the world already, that people would choose to create more is mind-boggling.

There is something very, very wrong when someone is cruel to helpless animals for fun, and something even more wrong when they are allowed to do it. Are some people so stunted in their thinking that torturing helpless animals gives them pleasure? I imagine we all hope that God will have a lot more mercy on us than was shown to these poor creatures.

Hiding behind an archaic and ill-conceived FAA law does not change right and wrong. Obviously lawmakers failed to take into account man's baser nature.

This town makes me think of that morally bankrupt town in the Clint Eastwood movie that was painted red. Maybe this town's name should be started with an H instead of a Y.
