Where I live: I live in the west Little Rock neighborhood of River Ridge with my husband, Jim. We have two children. Our son Christian and daughter Hannah are grown and live in Little Rock. They come over on Sundays for family dinners.
Occupation: I'm an artist and I work at The Art Group Gallery.
My favorite space is: my den. Natural light spills into this room from the French doors. It has a wood-burning fireplace, so it's a perfect sanctuary for kicking back. The den is a perfect size for me -- it's cozy and comfortable. A large leather sofa anchors the room with space for everyone to sit and cover up with a throw. Our bichon, Ed, is king of the castle. Hopefully you aren't in "his" spot, because if you are, he will let you know. He sits with us and is essentially in charge of things. We also have a large, great television in the den. I love football and every year I pick a different professional team to root for. The Dallas Cowboys are showing promise again, finally! My den also features artwork from lots of my friends, including works by John Lasater, Jennifer Wilson, Barry Thomas and a couple of my own paintings.
If I could make one change to improve the space I would: knock the wall out and connect the den to the kitchen, which is my other favorite space in our home. I would love an open floor plan -- to be able to cook and see everyone in the den all at once would be perfect.
