BENTONVILLE -- Steven J. Griggs, 30, of Centerton pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree sexual assault and third-degree domestic battery and was sentenced to six years in state prison and a 14-year suspended sentence.

Griggs was arrested Aug. 1 after two women said he attacked one of them while they were walking their dogs, according to a probable cause affidavit.

According to the women, Griggs emerged from a bush across the parking lot they were in and began to walk quickly toward them. The women said their dogs began barking and "going nuts" and one of the women fell to the ground.

Griggs got on top of the woman while she was on the ground and groped her, according to the affidavit. The woman told police Griggs tried to pull her toward a grassy area, but after struggling with him she got away.
