MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia cornerback Rasul Douglas wanted TCU to have a taste of what the Horned Frogs did to the Mountaineers a year ago.

Douglas had an interception to set up a touchdown and No. 12 West Virginia (6-0, 3-0) held TCU (4-3, 2-2) scoreless in the second half of a 34-10 victory Saturday.

It was the second consecutive blowout in the series after TCU won 40-10 last year in Fort Worth. Their first three games after joining the Big 12 in 2012 were decided on the final snap, including two that went to overtime.

"We owed them," Douglas said. "No disrespect to them, but we owed them as a team."

A retooled defense that has vastly improved over the past month is one reason why West Virginia is off to its best start since winning its first seven games in 2006.

"I thought it was our most complete game," said West Virginia Coach Dana Holgorsen. "It feels good to be 6-0. It's hard to win. So when you do, you've got to enjoy it a little bit."

In other games involving Big 12 teams, Mason Rudolph threw for 220 yards and one touchdown, Jalen McCleskey caught six passes for 129 yards, Justice Hill ran for 162 yards and Oklahoma State (5-2, 3-1) beat Kansas (1-6, 0-4) 44-20. ... Jesse Ertz ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score as Kansas State held Texas running back D'Onta Foreman in check and the Wildcats held on for a 24-21 victory in Manhattan, Kan. Kansas State (4-3, 2-2) beat the Longhorns (3-4, 1-3) for the fifth consecutive time at home, and almost certainly turned up the heat on Texas Coach Charlie Strong (Batesville, Central Arkansas). He dropped to 14-18 with the Longhorns, and has lost three of his last four games.
