Bloomfield, 35, was accused of offering a 12-year-old girl money for sex in Pocahontas on Sept. 29, 2015, said Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce of Newport. The girl gave police a description of Bloomfield and his license plate number, he said.

Boyce said Bloomfield was charged initially with sexual indecency with a child, but the prosecutor upgraded the charges.

Bloomfield was classified as a Level 4 sex offender based on a previous conviction in 2005 for sexual indecency with a child. Circuit Judge Harold Erwin's sentence of 30 years was the maximum punishment, Boyce said.

"We were aware this man was living in Randolph County based on a notice we received after he was released the first time," Boyce said in a news release. "Fortunately, the victim in this case was never physically touched by Bloomfield. Today's sentence should keep him locked up for a long time."
