ROGERS -- Rogers took advantage of four Van Buren second-half turnovers to pull away Friday night at Whitey Smith Stadium.
Van Buren (2-5, 1-3 7A-West) trailed 9-7 at halftime, but Rogers (5-2, 2-2) recovered three Pointers fumbles and also took advantage of a short punt for 17 points.
Rogers took advantage of a short field after a 7-yard punt, and it took just four plays to go 32 yards with Jeb Brain covering the final 7 yards for the score for a 16-7 lead.
Van Buren fumbled on its first play from scrimmage on the ensuing drive, and the Mounties cashed in on a 34-yard field goal by Chris Lopez.
After another Van Buren fumble, Grayson Lee scored on a 38-yard run.
Brain rushed for 166 yards on 21 carries with 2 touchdowns, including an 84-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
