Forrest City (4-1, 2-0) was penalized eight times in the first two quarters and allowed Valley View (3-2, 1-1) to take an early lead.

Forrest City sophomore quarterback Randal Moore threw six touchdown passes for the second time this season. The first was a victory two week ago over Helena-West Helena Central.

Moore passed 10 yards to Noah Thomas and again failed on the two-point conversion for a 12-7 lead. Moore added another 10-yard scoring pass, this one to Trajan Norment with 6:20 left in the first half of a 20-7 edge. The touchdown was set up when Ladarius Gibson recovered a Valley View fumble at the Blazers 21

Forrest City got the ball back with 31 seconds remaining in the first half. With three seconds left, Moore passed again to Norment for a 39-yard scoring play.

After a holding penalty negated a Forrest City touchdown, The Mustangs punted leading to a 1-yard Valley View scoring run.

A second Forrest City touchdown was called back with a little more than two minutes left in the third quarter, but a 20-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Thomas from 20 yards out with 15 seconds left in the third quarter put the Mustangs up 32-14.

Forrest City added a fourth quarter touchdown pass to set the final score.

Dontaye Summers led the Mustangs defensively, accounting for two sacks of Valley View quarterback Joseph Waleszonia in the fourth quarter.

The victory was the third consecutive over Valley View by Forrest City since the Blazers moved up to Class 5A before the 2014 season.
