ROGERS -- Senior quarterback Max Horton threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns as Rogers defeated Springdale at Whitey Smith Stadium.

Both Springdale (4-6, 2-5 7A-West) and Rogers (6-4, 3-4) will play on the road next week in the Class 7A playoffs. The Mounties will be the No. 5 seed from the 7A-West, while Springdale takes the No. 6 seed.
Rogers never trailed after a 29-yard field goal by Chris Lopez gave the Mounties a 9-8 lead midway through the second quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled within 23-21 on a 36-yard touchdown pass from Layne Hutchins to Jayden Minchew. But the Mounties defense came up with a pair of fourth down stops and turned both into scores to take control.
