Bella Vista water main to be replaced

BELLA VISTA -- More than a quarter-mile of water main will be replaced along Lambeth Road between Congleton Lane and Congleton Circle starting in June.

Work to replace the 1,400 feet of pipe should be done by late July, accordig to the Property Owners Association. The water main has caused multiple service interruptions in 2015 and 2016.

Motorists along Lambeth Road can expect traffic delays while water utility crews replace the main. Signs and flaggers will be used to help motorists.

During this project it will be necessary for crews to cut across Lambeth Road with the new water main. Lambeth Road will be closed between Congleton Lane and Congleton Circle for about 48 hours. Signs and barricades will be in place.

All residents will be notified in advanced of any planned water services interruptions due to this project. All dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather.

Outdated cement water mains in Bella Vista have caused headaches for the city and association for years. Finding and replacing the lines must be done in order to comply with standards and prevent problems.

Once the main is replaced, the street will be resurfaced.

"They'll have to come back and do a proper resurfacing," Mayor Peter Christie said. "The POA crew has done a lot of these replacement projects over the years. They've done a good job at it."
