It didn't take long for Brett Eibner to make an impact with the Kansas City Royals.

The former Arkansas star was called up from Triple-A Omaha Thursday and made his debut in the Royals' 7-5 win over the Chicago White Sox Friday, collecting his first major-league hit and run scored while starting as the designated hitter.

After striking out in his first two at bats, Eibner doubled to left field with one out in the seventh inning. The hit, which came on a 2-0 pitch from Miguel Gonzalez, sparked a four-run inning for the Royals.

He eventually scored on a two-run single by Whit Merrifield.

Eibner also received a standing ovation from the Kansas City crowd for laying down a sacrifice bunt in his next at bat, moving runners to second and third in the eighth inning and setting up a sacrifice fly that gave the Royals an insurance run.

He finished the game 1 for 3 and became the second former Arkansas player in three days to collect his first MLB hit, joining Matt Reynolds, who did it Wednesday.

Eibner's performance earned him a Gatorade bath following the game.
