Bentonville Superintendent Michael Poore will begin working for the Little Rock School District in a transitional role June 13, nearly three weeks before assuming superintendent duties, a spokesman for the district said Friday.
Poore's job will allow him to collaborate with Superintendent Baker Kurrus on district matters before replacing him July 1, according to a news release from the school district.
Spokesman Kimberly Friedman said Poore will use vacation days to fulfill his contract at Bentonville while working in the transitional role.
The Arkansas Department of Education will pay him $12,000 for his work before becoming superintendent.
