Area under severe thunderstorm, flash flood warnings

Much of Northwest Arkansas is under a flash flood warning issued Wednesday morning. A severe thunderstorm warning also covers parts of the area.

One to two inches of rain have already fallen in the warning area, and an additional one to two inches more are possible, according to the flash flood warning.

Cities under the flash flood warning include Siloam Springs, Gentry, Lincoln, Decatur, Tontitown and Cave Springs.

The severe thunderstorm warning, in effect until 9:45 a.m., covers Fayetteville, Springdale, Farmington and Elkins.

One Facebook, the Rogers Fire Department reported responding smoke in a residence from a lightning strike in the 2700 block of West Kathy Drive.
