The National Weather Service has removed portions of western Arkansas from a marginal threat for severe weather Monday. Still, that area of the state remains at a marginal risk for severe weather Tuesday as more storms are set to enter the state throughout the week, the weather service’s Tulsa office said.

Rain chances in western Arkansas will increase Monday afternoon and into the evening hours, though precipitation is not expected to be widespread.

The weather service said warmer temperatures met with increased moisture will allow storm chances to linger into the weekend.

Meteorologists said the greatest severe potential for northwest Arkansas will be late Tuesday and during another round of storms Friday.
