Pope County lanes to close for repairs

Work on sections of four highways in and around Pope County will require a series of alternating lane closures for nearly three weeks beginning Monday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The lane closures will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.on Mondays through Thursdays until June 9, weather permitting. No work is anticipated for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, the department said. Traffic will be controlled using signs, flagging and traffic guides.

The four highways scheduled for work, in the order it will occur, are:

• Arkansas 27 between Hector and Scottsville.

• U.S. 64 in Russellville, also called West Main Street, between Lake Front Drive and the east end of the Illinois Bayou Bridge.

• Arkansas 326 in Russellville, also called Lake Front Drive, between Arkansas 7 and U.S. 64.

• Arkansas 22 in Dardanelle, between Arkansas 155 and the Logan County line.
