One of Gov. Asa Hutchinson's sons was arrested Saturday in Alabama on a drug charge, authorities said.

The Baldwin County sheriff's office said on its website that Asa William Hutchinson III, 40, faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Mobile, Ala., television station WKRG reported that Hutchinson was arrested at the Hangout Music Festival.

During a bill signing Monday at the state Capitol, Arkansas' Republican governor addressed his son’s weekend arrest, calling it a tough day to be a parent.

“I think every parent and every son would identify and understand that problem,” Asa Hutchinson said. “My son is an adult, and he will have to address this just like he has had to address other things in the past.”

An online jail record indicated the younger Hutchinson was booked into jail shortly before 7:30 p.m. and was released at 3:50 a.m. Sunday. His bail had been $5,000.

The website did not indicate whether he had an attorney.

It's the second arrest this year for the younger Hutchinson, who was arrested Jan. 24 in Washington County on DWI, careless driving and implied consent violation charges.
