Bank of the Ozarks stock bought by fund

Giverny Capital of Montreal acquired more than 143,700 shares of Bank of the Ozarks stock in the first quarter, the money management fund reported in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The deal was valued at more than $6 million, according to BuySellSignals.com.

Giverny Capital now owns almost 1.1 million shares, or about 1.2 percent, of the Little Rock-based bank valued at almost $40 million.

Bank of the Ozarks has $11.4 billion in total assets. It has more than 175 offices in Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, New York and California.
