Police make arrests in Bentonville burglaries

BENTONVILLE — A man told police he was awakened by another man beating him on the face with an object, according to a Bentonville police news release.

Jason Anthony Fridline, 35, of Rogers was arrested Tuesday in connection with aggravated residential burglary, robbery, second-degree battery and theft of property, all felonies.

Bentonville police received a call at 7:18 a.m. Monday concerning a robbery and residential burglary at 312 SW D St., according to the release.

Family members in the home heard the attack and saw the suspect flee the bedroom. Family members chased the man out of the house, but lost sight of him.

Police officers were notified of a battery incident at 508 SW D St., according to the release. A 67-year-old homeowner told police he saw a dark-clothed male carrying a black bow case he believed had been stolen from him, according to the new release.

The man yelled for the suspect to stop, but he knocked the homeowner down and hit him on the face with his fist.

The suspect took items out of the bow case and fled on foot. Later, he was seen running on Southwest Seventh Street.

Police identified the suspect as Fridline and arrested him Tuesday. Fridline was being held Wednesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Fridline’s arrest isn’t connected to the report of an aggravated residential burglary Wednesday at 1307 SE 21st St.

Victor Manuel Vega, 18, of Bella Vista; Josue Alfonzo Gonzales, 20, of Fayetteville; and Kelly Lynn Nichols, 18, of Rogers were arrested Wednesday in connection with aggravated residential burglary. Vega also was arrested in connection with possession of a handgun on public school property or a bus, introduction of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the purpose to deliver a controlled substance and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. They are being held in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

Police were called at 1:11 a.m. to 1307 SE 21st St. for a residential burglary in progress, according to another news release.

Two people told police they were watching a DVD We Are Marshall and heard noises coming from the backyard.

One of them saw the back door get kicked and a masked man armed with a handgun entered the home, according to the release. The two people hid in a closet and heard multiple voices talking. They telephoned a friend, who called 911.

Police searched the area and discovered a green Ford car in the parking lot at Bentonville High School.

Vega, Nichols and Gonzalez were in the vehicle. Police also found a black Ruger LCP handgun, a black mask, a DVD player containing the DVD We Are Marshall and other stolen items, according to the release. Police also recovered controlled substances at the scene.
