Three finalists will be announced this summer and The Bowerman will be presented at the U.S. Track & Field Coaches Convention in December.

Lawson, a senior, is coming off an impressive showing at the SEC Outdoor Championships, where he finished with 20 individual points. Lawson was the meet champion in the long jump, third in the 200 meters and fifth in the 100 meters, and was part of the runner-up 400-meter relay team.

The Bowerman takes into consideration both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Lawson won the NCAA title in the long jump indoors and was fifth in the 60 meters.

Of the 10 on the watch list, half are from the SEC.
