Police: Man burglarized Bentonville homes, attacked residents, stole property

A Rogers man was arrested Tuesday in connection with burglaries, attacks on residents and theft in Bentonville, according to a news release from the Bentonville Police Department.

Jason Anthony Fridline, 35, was arrested in connection with aggravated residential burglary, robbery, two counts of battery and theft of property.

Police received a report early Monday morning about a robbery and burglary at 312 S.W. D St., according to the news release. The homeowner told officers he was asleep when a man started beating him in the face with an object.

Family members heard the attack and saw the man flee bedroom, according to the news release.

While officers were at the scene, another call came in for a battery at 508 S.W. D St.

The 67-year-old homeowner there told police he saw a man wearing dark clothes running south carrying a bow case that the homeowner believed had been stolen from him, the news release stated.

The homeowner yelled at the man, who then ran toward him, knocked him down and began punching him in the face, the news release stated.

The man took items out of the bow case and fled, according to the news release.

Fridline was arrested 5 p.m. Tuesday "following an extensive investigation," the news release stated, although it did not say how investigators linked Fridline to the crimes.

Fridline was being held Wednesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.
