FAYETTEVILLE — Alabama had a pair of two-run hits with two outs in the ninth inning and rallied to beat Arkansas 7-4 Sunday at Baum Stadium.
The Razorbacks lost their ninth straight game - the program's longest streak in 51 years - and were swept for the fifth time this season. Arkansas (26-25, 7-20 SEC) is in a tie with Tennessee for last place in the conference standings.
Rick Nomura's two-run home run with two outs in the eighth inning gave the Razorbacks a 4-3 lead. But the Crimson Tide rallied in the next half-inning against Arkansas pitcher James Teague, who gave up four hits and walked two batters in the ninth.
Georgie Salem's two-run single gave Alabama a 5-4 lead. After Teague walked the next batter, Will Haynie added a two-run single to give the Crimson Tide a 7-4 lead.
Arkansas threatened in the bottom of the ninth inning. Clark Eagan was hit by a pitch and Carson Shaddy reached on a two-out error, but Luke Bonfield flied out to end the game.
Alabama took a 1-0 lead on Salem's solo home run off Arkansas starter Blaine Knight in the first inning. The Crimson Tide (30-21, 15-12) finished the series with seven home runs.
Arkansas had taken a 2-1 lead in the second inning when Grant Koch doubled to score two runs, but Alabama tied the game on Salem's third inning double.
Salem finished the game 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.
The game was tied 2-2 until the top of the eighth. Arkansas reliever Zach Jackson walked Cobie Vance with one out. After Chandler Taylor singled with two outs, Vance scored on a wild pitch by Jackson to give Alabama a 3-2 lead.
The Razorbacks are scheduled to close to play their final home game Tuesday against Missouri State. Arkansas closes the regular season next weekend at No. 4 Mississippi State.
