THE RUNDOWN UALR has split its last four games, but the good news is, none of them were against Sun Belt Conference foes. The Trojans have two of their final three Sun Belt series at home, and all against teams with losing league records, as they try to clinch a spot in the conference tournament for the first time in three seasons. Ryan Scott (.443) and Dalton Thomas (.402) are still the top two hitters in the league, but UALR’s 5.83 team-ERA is last in the conference.

THE RUNDOWN ASU had its season-long six-game winning streak snapped last week and enter a nonconference series on a two-game skid. It won’t get easier for the Red Wolves, either, who will host a team that has won six in a row and seven of its last eight. Northwestern State ranks 23rd nationally with a 3.15 team ERA and Adam Oller, who is expected to start tonight, is 13th a 1.40 ERA over 83 1/3 innings pitched.

While its series was rained out against Southern, Grambling State swept Prairie View A&M in a three-game series to take a one-game lead. Last week’s series has not been rescheduled, and might not be at all. So, this weekend could be for UAPB’s third consecutive division title. The Golden Lions took two of three form the Tigers last month in Pine Bluff.
