Three Aeropostale retail stores in Arkansas, including one in the state's capital city, are among 145 planned to close after the company Wednesday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Those locations, according to court filings reported by the Wall Street Journal, are in Little Rock at Park Plaza, Hot Springs at Hot Springs Mall and Rogers at Pinnacle Hills Promenade.

In a news release, New York-based Aeropostale said it has plans to close 113 U.S. stores and 41 locations in Canada. A company spokesman told Arkansas Online that the list would be finalized and released later Wednesday.

Liquidation sales are set to begin this weekend at the U.S. stores, according to the company.

While Aeropostale is shuttering three Arkansas locations, the teen-targeted retail chain still has four other stores in the state: one in North Little Rock at McCain Mall, one in Fayetteville at Northwest Arkansas Mall, one in Fort Smith at Central Mall and one in Jonesboro at Mall at Turtle Creek.

Aeropostale said in its news release that "the company intends to emerge from the Chapter 11 process within the next six months as a standalone enterprise with a smaller store base."
