Naturals get three-game sweep of Tulsa Drillers

Northwest Arkansas scored seven runs in the top of the ninth inning and finished a three-game sweep of Tulsa at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.

The Naturals have won four in a row.

Northwest Arkansas trailed 3-2 entering the ninth inning, but scored seven runs and sent 11 batters to the plate. Hunter Dozier’s home run off Drillers reliever Dale Thayer tied the game at 3-3. Bubba Starling singled, was sacrificed to second by Mauricio Ramos and scored on Frank Schwindel’s RBI single that gave the Naturals a 4-3 lead.

Schwindel scored on a throwing error by Thayer to make it 5-3. Thayer threw a wild pitch, allowing Cam Gallagher to score for a 6-3 lead. Ramon Torres’ RBI double scored Logan Moon to make it 7-3. Orlando Calixte’s RBI single and Dozier’s run-scoring double capped the Naturals’ seven-run inning.

Christian Binford started for Northwest Arkansas, allowing three runs in seven innings. Benino Pruneda (1-2) earned the victory in relief, pitching the final two innings.
