Police responded at 1:15 p.m. Saturday to a disturbance at 2359 W. Holly St. in Fayetteville. Kimberly Minnick told officers that Steven Sisco, 25, of Farmington took their daughter after shoving Minnick against a wall, fleeing the home on foot.

While running away from the house, Sisco carried his daughter in one hand and a knife in the other, threatening to cut a neighbor if she came near him or the child, according to the police report.

When Sisco reached his car, he placed the child in the front seat without a car seat as Minnick pleaded with him not to take their daughter, Sgt. Craig Stout said.

Sisco drove to his parents' mobile home on Wedington Drive but sped away when he saw police. Police did not follow because they did not want the child to be harmed, authorities said.

Police tried to search the mobile home later, but Sisco's parents refused, Stout said. While standing at the door, an officer spotted Sisco enter as he held up the girl like a shield, the report said.

Sisco was arrested and booked into the Washington County jail on charges of kidnapping, first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, first-degree terroristic threatening, aggravated assault, third-degree domestic battery and fleeing.
