SCHOOL: Springdale High

NOTABLE: Led his alma mater to a 16-12 record in his first season as head coach, a mark that included a win over Conway in the first round of the 7A state tournament. … Springdale finished fourth in the 7A-West after being picked sixth by the NWADG staff, the result of a roster featuring just two returning rotation players from a team that went 12-16 and finished sixth the year before. … Springdale swept Fort Smith Northside for the first time since 1999, which was Price’s senior year playing for the Bulldogs and one of two state runner-up teams in program history. … Prior to being named head coach, Price previously coached in the district at George Junior High before serving as Brad Stamps’ assistant for a year in 2015.

HE SAID IT: “I think I grew a lot this year. I tried to enjoy this year and the success we had because you never know when you’re going to get back to the tournament, when you’re going to get back to the tournament and win a game, when you’re going to be able to finish in the top four (in conference). So I tried to enjoy that, but I also tried to (think) how can I be better at this next year.”
