FOUKE — A 9-year-old boy died after being trampled by a horse on a family farm near Fouke, Miller County authorities said.
The Texarkana Gazette reported that investigators said the boy was leading the horse when he became tangled in the rope. The boy held onto the rope and was dragged away, investigator Patsy DeHart said.
The child was found in a pasture with the horse and was flown to a Little Rock hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The boy's name was not released, and investigators said he was a foster child who was being adopted by the family.
