Hunt CEO's compensation $5.4M in '15

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Chief Executive Officer John Roberts earned $5.4 million in compensation in 2015, according to an annual proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Roberts' pay was an increase from $4.3 million in 2014. He earned $796,132 in base salary, $4.3 million in stock options, $225,000 in nonequity incentive plan compensation and $19,053 in other compensation.

Chief Financial Officer David Mee earned $2.4 million in total compensation, which was an increase from $1.7 million in 2014. Kirk Thompson, board chairman and former CEO, earned $2.3 million in compensation.

J.B. Hunt will hold its annual shareholders meeting on April 21. According to the proxy, the agenda will include a shareholders proposal for J.B. Hunt to amend its equal employment opportunity policy to specifically prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

J.B. Hunt's board of directors believe an amendment is unnecessary because the company's "current policy and practice more than achieve" the objective of the proposal. The board recommends shareholders vote against the proposal.
