Cellphone buyer robbed, wounded in Little Rock

A Little Rock man was shot in the foot and robbed after meeting a man to buy a cellphone Sunday, police reported.

Officers were called about 12:39 a.m. to 11701 W. Markham St. and found Lucky Uzonwa, 26, had been grazed by a bullet on his left foot, according to a police report. Uzonwa declined medical treatment.

Uzonwa said he'd met a man at the address to buy a cellphone for $60, but the man had taken his cash and tried to walk away, according to the report. Uzonwa confronted the man, who then pulled a gun and fought with Uzonwa over the weapon. The man reportedly fired several shots during the struggle, then fled with another man in a blue Chevrolet Cruze.

Police said three .380-caliber shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Officers searched the area but made no arrests.

The robber, who Uzonwa reportedly met online, is described as black, 5-foot-2, 120 pounds and between the ages of 18 and 20. He wore a black shirt, white shoes and black sweatpants.
