Edmund Linka, 50, was sentenced to six years on probation and fined $1,000.

Linka had been charged with attempted capital murder, attempted arson, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, all felonies.

Springdale police went to the home the morning of Sept. 28 for a domestic-disturbance call, according to a police report.

The report said Linka told police he poured gasoline in every room of the house, then on his wife, intending to burn them both.

Linka told police he was tired of his wife insulting him and was in love with another woman, the report said.

Moore-Linka's daughter and other relatives tackled Linka, allowing Moore-Linka to escape about the same time police arrived, according to the report.
